Prum Samnang Builds His Reputation on Thai Fight Stage for a Second Time

PHNOM PENH: Cambodian Kun Khmer fighter, Prum Samnang, took only two minutes in the first round to beat a Russian fighter on the Thai Fight stage on Sunday night, 26 February 2023. This is the second time he has made a name for himself in this arena.

Prum Samnang raised the Cambodian flag in the Thai arena when he defeated Russian fighter, Firdavs Zhon Naimov, much to the delight of Khmer martial arts fans.

The Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Commander of the Army, Lt. Gen. Hun Manet, wrote a congratulatory message on his official Facebook page, saying "Congratulations to Prum Samnang for beating Russia's Firdavs Zhon Naimov in the first round of the Thai Fight event in Thailand on 26 February 2023."

Prum Samnang has competed on the Thai Fight stage twice in February. The first time, on 5 February, he defeated British fighter, Thomas Carpenter, in the first round, and now, his second time in the arena, he brings home another victory against Russia’s Firdavs Zhon Naimov in the same first round.

There have been four Cambodian Kun Khmer fighters who have beat their opponents in the Thai Fight arena, including former fighter, Sen Bunthen, who won in 2014, Keo Roomchong who won in 2016, Thoeun Theara who competed and won in 2022, and now Prum Samnang who has won twice within the month of February.
